The AUSTSWIM Course (Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety) provides participants with the skills necessary to teach children from the age of four years how to swim. The AUSTSWIM Certificate is valid for three years.
Candidates are expected to have a resonable level of fitness and are required to perform 150 metres of continuous swimming.
Candidates may enrol in a course at 16 years of age but will not be eligible to receive the award until 17 years of age.
Before the commencement of the course you will be expected to complete a double sided (A4) work sheet with information from a CD-ROM (correspondence).
The course will take two full days (including theory & pratical sessions) usually on a weekend plus you are expected to complete 20 hours of practical teaching.
Course Fees cover the AUSTSWIM Manual, CD-ROM, Two Day Course, Pool Entry & AUSTSWIM Certification.
You will need to bring the following to the course; Pen & Notepad, Swimmers, 2 Towels, Dry Warm Clothing & Food for the Day.
