Monique Bain, Wenona’s Swimming Machine

Over the past 5 days Monique (16) has competed at several major events and dominated her opposition. From April 1 - 8 Australia’s most talented swimmers assembled at Sydney Olympic Park to compete at the Open National titles. Monique qualified for 2 events the 50m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle. In both events Monique swam a personal best time improving her ranking.

To finish off a great week of racing Monique entered the Balmoral Harbour Swim on 10 April, putting on a dominating performance in her age group finishing first, and was the second female out of the water for the 1km event. Monique decided to back up racing that day and entered into the dash for glory, continuing her fine form she destroyed the other competitors storming up the beach first to claim the Anita Comelli trophy.

Over the holidays Monique is competing at the Age National championships in Adelaide, were the countries best age group athletes will be competing for the national title.
